Generally, Issa is an accomplished teacher and lecturer with demonstrated ability to teach, train, motivate, and direct students/trainees while maintaining high interest and achievement. Articulate communicator and consultant, able to effectively interact with diverse populations at a variety of academic, social and cultural levels. Craving to maintain excellent relations with students, core-workers, parents and administrators. Other qualities are self-motivated with strong planning, organizational and established leadership skills; passionate in reading and motivating others to carefully select and usefully utilize their potentials.
Specifically, Issa is a Teacher, Demographer, Development planner and Trainer. Currently is a Lecturer and PhD student pursuing a PhD in Geography at the University of Dar Es Salaam, Mwl. Nyerere Campus – Dar es Salaam. Mr. Issa has a Master of Arts Degree in Demography from the University of Dodoma, after obtaining a Bachelor degree in Population and Development Planning from the Institute of Rural Development Planning. Currently is working as a Lecturer in Population studies teaching various modules/courses related to Population studies, demography, and Development planning, as well as conducting and supervising students on various researches on these disciplines. Not only that, has conducted various consultancy works on base line surveys such us data collection for preparation of social economic profiles, population census, and preparation of strategic plans.
As a trainer in Higher Learning Institutions he has been teaching Population and Education Planning; Urbanization and Migration; Population and Settlement Planning; Population and Health Planning; Theories and Models of Population; Population and Development; Population and Poverty analysis, Development Planning techniques; Population, Environment and Natural Resources; Population and Policy analysis and Development Planning; Migration and Urbanization; Data collection Techniques; Population and Gender Planning; Data Collection Methods and Techniques for diplomas, bachelor’s degree and post graduate students. As a Consultant, apart from IRDP as a consultant firm, he has also worked with other organizations including; EQUIP Tanzania and National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
