Strategic Planning &Project Mgt

a) Strategic Management

Our experts in this area help organizations and institutions to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations and ensure clients employees and other stakeholders work toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to a changing environment.

Through effective strategic planning, NCCL experts helps the organizations/institutions to articulate not only where an organization is going and the actions needed to make progress, but also how it will know if it is successful.

b) Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation

NCCL Consultants explore the outcome-focused planning, monitoring and evaluation in a partnership setting and introduce the core tools and frameworks that will support outcome-focused practice. Training and support are tailored to meet specific needs but typically cover: the key principles and processes of outcome focused practice; participatory and needs-led approaches to planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME); the wider context for outcome-focused PME; and support to use models such as monitoring, evaluation, learning and adaptation (MELA) and logic modeling within practice settings.

NCCL Consultants achieve impact through a grounded and participatory approach, supporting the aspirations and decisions of Client by providing them with the knowledge and skills required to sustainably manage the resources they depend on for project implementation. By building Client capacity and by strengthening their ability to control and use their social, economic, and environmental assets, NCCL Consultants will have supported the Client to engage with challenges and shifting contexts in holistic ways.
c) Project Review and Recovery
NCCL Consultants provide program/project review and recovery by reviewing of the program's/project's current state to identify the areas in jeopardy. Common areas of concern often include issues with scope, resource availability and/or capability, roles and responsibilities, and project monitoring and control. We will present our assessment to the Client senior leadership team recognizing the program/project's accomplishments to date, while calling out the major issues that caused it to veer off track.

d) Project Management Maturity Assessment

NCCL Consultants work with Clients to assess the current level of maturity, develop an achievable improvement plan and help keep the momentum going by supporting the execution and measurement of the recommended improvements. We assess Client organization's current program/project delivery capability and project management maturity level. We then apply the project management maturity model such as learning, evaluation, adoption/accountability and planning (LEAP) as a guide to determine the current maturity level, the desired future level, and the targeted areas in which investments should be focused in order to advance.

The appropriate target level of maturity will vary in each program/project areas basing on specific goals, strategies, resource capabilities, scope, and needs. Results from the assessment are used to develop specific recommendations and a sequenced roadmap that will provide realistic milestones for short and long-term process improvement activities. Moreover, NCCL Consultants work with the Clients to ensure that the plan also addresses change enablers that will help to overcome cultural barriers in program/project areas.

e) Project Management Methodology Implementation

However NCCL Consultants develop methodology and process to meet Clients needs by taking into account the size of their program/project portfolio, complexity and duration of program/projects, and the current operational model. It's important to have the right level of process, associated with the appropriate artifacts and tools, to enable program/project teams to deliver. There's no need to start from scratch. NCCL Consultants evaluate the current state of Clients processes and utilization across their organizations.

Our expert Consultants come equipped with toolkit of processes, forms, and templates to draw from, that can be used to subsidize what Clients already have. The deployment of methodology is not a one-time effort. Once you have a process and artifacts developed, they must be deployed. Different methods are used to deploy new process and standards within an organization. Some examples are classroom training, workshops, and lunch and learn events.

f) Project Management Mentorship

Moreover NCCL Consultants work closely with project managers and project personnel to build project management competency while ensuring successful execution of projects. Our mentors actively participate in projects to ensure standards are being adopted and help provide a comfortable transition when deploying new processes, practices, and templates. This type of personalized knowledge transfer from experienced resources encourages the development of competencies more easily gained through example, guided learning, and hands-on practice.
